Raperos y Parqueros was recorded as a central component to research on economic, social, and political alternatives for independent musicians in Buenos Aires and Montevideo. The short album features two amazing Argentinian rappers, Giovanni and Astrid, and was written and recorded in two weeks. The central theme of the album reflects the findings of the research and stems from hours of conversation surrounding identity and navigating the competitive music industry in Buenos Aires. In this sense Raperos y Parqueros is a intercultural exchange that serves to highlight what it means to be Hip-Hop, to identify with a space, and to want to push back against a system that highlights the experiences of a few while marginalizing others.
